Sponsored bar mitzvah boys receive: 2 months of preparatory lessons; tefillin, tallit, siddur and a new outfit. On the designated day, the boys will begin their day with a special ceremony. Bat Mitzvah Twinning

Connections Israel has been approached by the Sderot Department of Social Services and asked to create a meaningful program for the neediest of local girls.
The Bat Mitzvah Experience is an opportunity to break the cycle; to introduce joy and meaning; to create bonds with local young Jewish women in leadership positions who will mentor these young ladies; to build positive Jewish identity.

A sponsored child will receive individual and group mentoring on becoming a bat mitzvah and an adult member of the Jewish community. She will also receive candlesticks and a siddur, a new outfit for the bat mitzvah girl and her mother, a Jerusalem experience - special visits and educational workshops, and a group celebration with music, dancing, and a festive meal.

Connecting to Victims of Terror

Nothing has devastated Israel more than the amount of innocent people who have been struck by horrific acts of senseless violence. These acts of terror are perpetrated indiscriminately against all sectors of Israeli society leaving behind a trail of orphans, widows, parents bereft of their children, permanently disabled individuals of all ages and emotionally scarred human beings. Even those who "only" witnessed such a tragic event are left with serious long-term emotional scars such as post traumatic stress disorder and the like - conditions which make everyday life an ongoing challenge.
Connections Israel enables you to show your support and make a difference in the lives of these individuals and families whose realities have been altered forever.

Adopt an IDF unit

For the past decade, Connections Israel has delivered thousands of mishloach manot baskets from communities abroad to soldiers on active duty, each one accompanied with a personal note or letter from the sender. Long after the goodies have been devoured, the messages of support remain as a testament to Jewish unity. By popular demand for a more involved relationship with these brave young men and women we are pleased to bring you , "Adopt a Unit." Projects in this program include: shiurim (study sessions) for soldiers; project NOSH – Not Only Sufganiyot (jelly donuts) for Soldiers on Hanukah and much more! This program affords community members a more in depth connection to the IDF, an increased sense of belonging to the Jewish people and greater Jewish pride. Participants in this project exchange pictures and information; receive details about members of the unit who have fallen in battle to make Yom Hazikaron more personal and many other interactive projects.
